Don't miss PART 2 of the acclaimed Guardians project! The Peale is hosting a party to announce the next cohort of amazing Baltimore Guardians. We'll also feature a pop-up exhibition of the first round of Guardians recipients. The Guardians is a photo documentary and storytelling project that celebrates the unrecognized community work of female leaders from Baltimore City neighborhoods. By uplifting their stories and experiences through recorded interviews and large-scale photographs, we demonstrate how art and activism can make real, lasting change. Launched in 2021 with a cohort of 13 Baltimore leaders, the award-winning Guardians project provides a platform for honoring women who spend their lives fighting for better, healthier communities. This year, we have expanded to include new Guardians from more of Baltimore's districts while broadening and deepening the work of the original cohort in their neighborhoods. Continuity is critical to the impact of this project: by repeating this process annually, The Guardians and their work will become larger, stronger, and more visible in 2022-2023 and beyond. IT’S TIME TO MAKE VISIBLE THE TIRELESS EFFORTS OF BALTIMORE’S BLACK FEMALE LEADERS.
