Theft recovery plea for help recovering personal religious items from theft at Union Landing, Union City.
Dear community,
I experienced a theft from my vehicle at Union Landing, Union City on Wednesday morning this week. Of the items taken was a black shoulder bag containing two rakusus given to me in a Buddhist religious ceremony in which a person receives the Buddhist precepts. A rakusu is a lay Buddhist ordination robe. It is a folded bib-like piece of cloth that is navy blue on one side and white with Chinese characters on the other side. It has a strap to place the bib over the head. It sits inside a navy blue cloth envelope inside the black shoulder bag. There were two of them. A white binder with Buddhist teachings is also in the bag.
As you can imagine, I am experiencing deep sorrow and grief at this loss and I deeply wish to recover them. Thinking of the possibility that they may have been discarded after the theft, and that someone in the community may come across them, I offer this announcement. Please reach back if you happen to find them. In deepest gratitude for all, thank you.
