For those who are participating in our first community-wide, great big book club by reading Louise Erdrich's The Sentence, join us live on October 27 for a fun discussion of the book, with snacks and surprises. The event is free, but we are asking for RSVPs for planning purposes. If you haven't read the book yet, there's still time. As we read, there are contests, trivia, and other ways to participate. Without giving anything away, The Sentence is a story of a bookstore haunted by one of its customers. And of course, much more. Perfect for Halloween. Erdrich, who owns Birchbark Books in Minneapolis, has blended fiction with fantasy in this wonderful tale of haunting, love, and fierce fidelity - set at the dawn of the pandemic. Erdrich's perspective as a Native American, her abiding love of books, her gentle humor and her reverence for the spirit world weave an unforgettable "ghost story" unlike any other.
