Join us for a 4-day co-led event that celebrates the Chicago student startup community. This year, our theme is "Take Flight." We believe now is the time for student entrepreneurs to take the lead on creating ground-breaking, revolutionary solutions to the problems that the unleashed during pandemic. Each school listed above will be hosting various networking events, workshops and light refreshments for the startup community. SCHEDULE Here is the schedule for Startup Fest at UChicago: Day 04 – Oct 14, 2022 Startup Fest – Join us at UChicago as we celebrate the creativity, innovation, and collaboration of local startups in the community and showcase student entrepreneurship. You can expect an exhibition of various talents across the student startup community. Location: University of Chicago | Main Quad – 1100 E 58th St, Chicago, IL 60637 Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM What to expect? Booths will be set around Main Quad for each of the ventures, and each venture will be supplied a number of tickets to distribute to those who stop by to learn about their services and complete venture-specific tasks, such as downloading an app or completing a marketing survey. These tickets will be subsequently used by attendees to redeem food and merchandise items. With an accessible, interactive, and festival-like setup, Startup Fest encourages attendees and passersby to learn more about student entrepreneurship. Participating Venture Requirements & Information: Eligible ventures include: student startups, teams that participated in startup competitions, recently launched ventures across Chicago and startups founded by alumni. We will provide each venture their own table, tablecloth, roll of food tickets and printed sign with their name and logo. Tables will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We may be able to reimburse some travel costs for ventures that are based off-campus. Participating ventures are welcome to bring their own decorations or merchandise. Likewise, in the spirit of the event, we encourage ventures to think about what kind of interaction could be engaging, yet useful for them that would be worth one ticket. We are happy to help with suggestions. We expect participating ventures to table for the full duration of the event. The mission of the 2022 Techstars Chicago Startup Week is to establish a supportive Chicago-based entrepreneurial community made up of students from various universities and high schools, and industry professionals/entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds. Everyone is welcome, and we encourage attendees to have an interest in entrepreneurship or to be interested to become a part of the community. If you are thinking about becoming a founder or working for a startup this event you cannot miss! 4. Do I have to attend all 4 days? You are welcome to attend as many or as few events as you would like. We offer events throughout the 4 days. If you would like to attend all events, we would love that as well!
