Join our email list for all event news! Our Family Campouts offer the very special opportunity to pitch your tent at our campsite overlooking the ocean. We anticipate that it will be a wonderful opportunity for your family to come enjoy the trails, tide pools, plants and animals of Slide Ranch. We invite you to pitch your tent on the Dome meadow, overlooking the ocean, about a 10 minute hike down a trail from our parking area. We request that you please bring your own picnic dinner and breakfast, as communal meals are not currently feasible, unfortunately. Please bring foods that do not require refrigeration or reheating, to keep things very simple. For example, pasta salad or sandwiches, and cereal with bananas and shelf-stable milk. We will provide a stove for heating water for hot beverages. Our day of camping will start with a Farm Tour! This year, you can arrive as early as 9:00am to get your camp trip started. When you are ready, please join us between 10:00am-11:00am for a hands-on goat milking demonstration. This will be followed by a visit to our chicken & duck coops and a walk through our garden until approximately 12:30pm. At 4:00pm when most families have arrived, we will go over a quick 10-minute orientation on how to best use our facilities and keep yourself safe. We may also offer an evening campfire, weather dependent, around 7pm. This program will be confirmed with a Teacher-in-Residence at the orientation. Please Note: Participants must bring their own camping equipment (including tent and sleeping bags), and a picnic dinner and breakfast. COVID-19: As COVID-19 policies continue to change, Slide Ranch adheres to CDC, MHHS (Marin Health and Human Services) and the GGNRA (Golden Gate National Recreation Area) for safety guidelines. As part of our Covid-19 safety measures we are hosting this event to be exclusively outdoors and will facilitate all activities to enable physical distance to be maintained. All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks indoors. Masks are recommended but not mandatory outdoors. We require that you wear a mask whenever you are within 6 feet of anyone outside of your household and ask you to please do a health self-assessment and refrain from participating in case of any signs of illness as our family programs are sometimes high-attendance events. Please note we will not accept any participant in a household where any of the members have tested positive for COVID-19. If anyone from your household tests positive or shows symptoms for COVID-19 and you are already registered, please contact Slide Ranch immediately. We appreciate your help in keeping our camp safe! Cancellation Policy: Our Family Programs are non refundable with a $75 processing fee. If you need to cancel, we will offer you a credit for a future event/program.
