Please join 99 Bottles and Sommelier Joshua Voytek as we explore the world of wine!
As the first part in a series about Italian wine, we start with the northern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige. Nestled against the mountains bordering Austria and Switzerland, this high altitude region has a character different than many other Italian regions and producing wines of great minerality and expression. This region has some of the best Pinot Grigio wines in Italy, but also produces interesting wines from white varietals like Kerner, Pinot Bianco, and native varietal Nosiola, as well as native red varietals like Schiava and Lagrein. Come to explore the wines of this beautiful region as a fun transition from our previous classes on Germany and Austria into these unique expressions of wines from Italy.
