Volunteer with church to feed homeless men

Jobs

Pacific Grove CA

Description

We are a strong but mighty Protestant church. We participate in feeding homeless men who are enrolled in the I-HELP program with one dinner each month in Pacific Grove. We need a volunteer available for about 4 to 5 hours each month to plan the dinner meal, shop ingredients, cook/bake, serve potluck style, clean up, and lock up the church. The homeless men do most of the clean-up, and there are usually 15 to 40 men on average. Most of our members are retirement age and beyond. Those few church members who might be younger are busy working or have limited physical abilities. But one or two church members who have extensive experience with this meal for decades would assist you with the planning, opening the church, using our kitchen, and lock-up, but you are needed for all the heavy lifting literally and figuratively. Please respond with the following: Name Name of city where you reside Email address Phone number Why you want to volunteer with our church to feed the homeless? What is your availability? Are you available for one dinner, several dinners, or can you make a 6 or 12-month commitment, or more?
