Butts Hill Fort Volunteer Cleanup
The Butts Hill Fort Restoration Committee are planning our 4th clean-up Saturday October 29th from 8am to 2pm. Cleanup efforts will include only removal of deadfall wood and overgrown brush from the ditches and parapet walls on the north, east, and south sides of the fort. There will be NO tree cutting.
Parking is available behind the tennis courts at Portsmouth High School or on Dyer St. Please do not park on Butts St. It must remain clear to allow vehicles with equipment to access the Fort. Upon arrival volunteers will be asked to sign a waiver of liability for the Town of Portsmouth and are asked to bring rakes and shovels. Weedwhackers would also be helpful. Please be alert to the presence of ticks and poison ivy.
The BUTTS HILL FORT RESTORATION COMMITTEE is a committee of the BATTLE OF RHODE ISLAND ASSOCIATION.
