...said no one ever.
In years of looking I have found just three types of players here:
1) weekend warrior with little or no talent (80%)
2) decent player but too busy with kids/career to devote required time to prepare and rehearse (19%)
3) Out-of-my-league professional who makes a living playing music full time and wants the same from me (1%)
I can spot the 1's immediately, takes 5 minutes of hearing them play. No big deal, I just move along.
I'm not interested in driving 100 miles or more to play and I don't read music. So that rules out the 3's.
The 2's are the closest I can get to what I want. Verrrrrrry frustrating. They're fun to play with, we like the same songs, we both want to play gigs on a few weekends a month. But something always comes up with them. Have to work overtime. Have go out of town on business. Have to go to the kid's game. Blah blah blah.
I have no answers, I'm just venting.
