Hello Everyone!
Seasoned guitarist and stand-up bassist are looking for a talented female vocalist to round out a niche trio dedicated to covering standards of the 50's and 60's. We'll lean into the crossover country/jazz tunes that would have also made the pop charts at the time, but stay pretty much down the middle of the road. Songs by Patsy Cline, Rosemary Clooney, Brenda Lee, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Connie Francis would be considered a starting point. Guitarist will contribute lead/backing vocals as the song selections dictate.
Age/experience not important, but we are looking for someone with a solid vocal quality/range, basic musicianship, professional performance appearance, confidence and the desire/ability to not just sing but entertain. Familiarity with the style/artists mentioned above and an ability to learn/adapt quickly would be a plus. We'd prefer you have your own mic/stand/cable, we'll make sure the rest of the necessary equipment is covered.
This is a start-up project, with the intent to start booking paid gigs quickly and with as few rehearsals as possible. This is also a flexible situation, both guitarist and bassist are already in multiple actively performing projects so its certainly OK if you are too...we'll work around each others' schedules for the right person. Most rehearsals will be in Liberty Hill, if you're up for hosting a rehearsal on occasion we can come to you. We're both currently playing all over Greater Austin, Hill Country, Etc., so we'll be be looking to book those venues we have relationships with first.
We encourage you to hit us up if you'd like to discuss further and find out more.
Thanks!
