Jessica Hatch pivoted from freelance book editor to Amazon best-selling author when she accepted a two-book deal from Hachette Book Group’s Bookouture imprint in 2022. Drawing on Jessica’s decade-plus of publishing experience, as well as on the query letter that got her first novel past the gatekeepers, this interactive workshop will: explore common query letter formats and querying resources; discuss query-adjacent FAQs, such as when in the year to pitch agents, who needs to write a book proposal, and what sort of agent is the best to reach out to; and, ensure that its participants leave with a drafted query letter and some other goodies. #AmQuerying is the ideal workshop for novelists and memoirists shopping around their finished manuscript, but all are welcome.
