Description

This interactive professional development course presented by Jennifer Loli, LMSW, LMT, CT, NTS will consist of experiential writing exercises and activities, mindfulness techniques, and group discussions to investigate death and dying. Exploring various tools to deter professional burnout, building self-care strategies to promote self-awareness, as well as sustaining positive social support systems will be addressed. This experience will have a body and mind emphasis, and help participants gain an understanding of their own perspective on death, loss, and grief. A myriad of teaching techniques will encourage critical thinking, self-reflection, and examine the individual and collective responses to loss and death. This course will provide three (3) continuing education credits for licensed counselors and social workers. Jennifer Loli, LMSW, LMT, CT, NTS, is an Instructor of Sociology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, LA., who currently teaches courses in Social Problems and Introduction to Applied/Clinical Sociology, and Social Work. She is passionate about refugee resettlement, immigration, inequality, health disparities, and death & dying.
