In my steadfast commitment to assist you, I am excited to announce and provide your office with an additional tool to help protect and serve your community. Next month, with the assistance of national leaders, we will conduct a statewide training focused on investigating non-fatal strangulations. This will be an interactive training and learn how to successfully handle and investigate strangulation cases from report to close. My office and I want to help your agency achieve the highest standard of victim-centered care and offender accountability. Together – we can reduce gender-based violence; hold perpetrators accountable; and give victims the compassion, support, and justice they deserve. At this training, law enforcement officers will learn concrete and effective approaches that should lead to stronger cases and prosecution rates. They will be encouraged to think outside the box about justice, especially on what it means for victims and survivors.
