Content Expert: Dr. Kenneth Austin PPG, Pain Management Location: Mirro Advanced Medical Simulation LabAgenda:8:00-8:30 - Discuss indications, contraindications, and complications for the following nerve blocks: Greater and lesser occipital nerve, Upper extremity, Thoracic and abdominal, and Lower extremity8:30-9:00 - Demonstrate image acquisition of the following nerves or nerve blocks on a standardized patient: Greater and lesser occipital nerve, Upper extremity, Thoracic and abdominal, and Lower extremity.9:00-12:00 - Perform the following nerve blocks on a task trainer in the simulated environment: Image acquisition and knobology/color, Nerve block probe and needle placement, Supraclavicular, and femoral. Other Objectives:Demonstrate image acquisition including use of knobology and color via ultrasound probe on SP or task trainer and describe needle placement for the following blocks.Operate the TE7 ultrasound machine for nerve block purposes in the simulated setting.
