A/C Vaccum of Mini Split Units

I had an A/C tech come out and look at these brand new mini split units. They all have Freon in them and are installed and ready to go. He said they just need to have the system vacuumed and then they should be blowing cold. Can you do this? He is charging me $50 a unit but is very busy so I cannot wait any longer.
