We are excited to host our next Irvine Police Interfaith Security Partnership meeting on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 10am - 12pm. We thank the members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church who have graciously agreed to be this month's host.
Our October meeting will be unlike any previous ISP meeting. With the assistance of multiple members of the Irvine Police Department, our training will offer ISP members an opportunity to participate in realistic, scenario-based training exercises with live actors. Participants will rotate through various scenarios designed to test and enhance their tactical communication skills, de-escalation techniques, situational awareness, and crisis management processes. We've designed our scenarios to represent problems that house of worship safety teams are likely to encounter and resolve prior to a police response. At the conclusion of each scenario, participants will receive feedback from members of the Irvine Police Department.
This training is designed for anyone on your safety and greetings teams, from your part time volunteers to your full time managers. We welcome all to attend; reservations will be required for admittance.
NOTE: For those with CCW's or who typically carry a legal knife or other sharp object, there will be NO weapons allowed at this training. Please properly secure these items prior to coming to the training. We will be conducting pat down searches of anyone who wants to participate in or observe the scenarios to ensure the safety of all staff and participants.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Threat Mitigation Officer Rick Gramer at [email protected].
