As 2019 came to a close, Tom French turned sixty and, newly retired, took on a “gap year” with the goal of climbing Mount Everest. Little did he know that this effort would become a two-and-a-half-year odyssey of training challenges, Covid lockdowns, travel delays, and weather disappointments before he reached the summit on his second attempt in May 2022. Join us at Oak & Iron Brewing on October 18 when Tom will share pictures and memories of his great adventure in Nepal along with his thoughts on the joys and costs of achieving personal goals.
