Description
Want to: -Learn tips and tricks from pro cyclists? -Gain insight on proper nutrition to fuel your ride? -Talk all things cycling with the best of the best? If you answered yes to any of these, you’re in luck! Join us Friday, October 14th, 6pm at our newest location, Prosper - Hollyhock for a convivial evening of light food and drinks paired with a Q&A panel of professional cyclists, ready to take on all of your questions! Our panel features some of the top names in the sport like Rahsaan Bahati, Alison Tetrick, and Biju Thomas! Rahsaan Bahati is a 10-time National Road Champion from California who currently races for his team, the Bahati Foundation Elite Team. Over the years, Rahsaan has won numerous titles in road and criterium races, but he has found a higher purpose in the creation of the Bahati foundation in 2010, which aims to support inner-city youth, on and off their bikes. In 2021, Team Thin Energy/Bahati Foundation raced the world’s toughest bike race, Race Across America, and took home 1st place while raising funds for underprivileged youth while teaching them essentials and financial literacy to continue to succeed in the future. Although Alison Tetrick has pro cycling in her blood, she didn’t start racing bikes until after college! From growing up on a Cattle Ranch in California to representing Team USA in road and time trial races, Alison started collecting a series of awards and accolades until a life-threatening head injury and shattered pelvis left her wondering if she would ever be able to race again. A few years later, Alison found her new calling to dusty gravel roads, when she set a course record and took 1st place in Dirty Kanza, now Unbound Gravel, and became a 3-time Gravel Worlds Champion. Our last guest, Biju Thomas, is a cyclist, entrepreneur, and chef among countless other skills and traits. Born and raised in South India, Biju discovered his love for cooking surrounded by his family. He started as a dishwasher at 15 and rose through the ranks in the restaurant world, eventually combining his love of cycling and food into a career. Biju has cooked for big names from Lance Armstrong and Peter Sagan, to everyday riders worldwide. When he met Dr. Allen Lim, the two formed a bond that would change how we view nutrition in the cycling world. The two co-founded Skratch Labs, whose mission is to make food and drinks with natural ingredients that still taste great and solve problems for active people. These two have also gone on to co-author three Feed Zone cookbooks for athletes.
