Appalachian Folk Music, warm apple cider, delicious food and fellowship create this amazing opportunity to express our gratitude for the generous rains that have provided us with a bountiful harvest this season. We gather together to give thanks in this traditional Nahua ceremony that helps bring balanced weather to our region.
This event is held rain or shine
Arrive at 12:30 PM at 424 Timberline to drop off your chairs, picnic lunch and offerings. Then please park at the Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, 4192 Soco Rd, and shuttle back to the Harvest Festival. Shuttle will stop running at 1:15 PM so please be prompt and please plan to stay for the entire ceremony.
WHAT TO BRING:
1. Basket, bowl or bag of fruit
2. Bread (loaf of bread and/ or sweet rolls)
3. Cut flowers (wild picked, store bought or from your garden) no potted plants please
It's important for each family member to bring all three offerings
4. Picnic lunch for you and your family
5. Chair and rain jacket in case we are blessed with rain (we have a covered Fire Pavilion)
6. We appreciate donations to cover the cost of this event and a love offering for our amazing musician, LIza Jane Alexander, who travels from Oak Ridge TN. Thanks so much!!
