INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Dmitra Gideon (they/she/he) currently serves as Director of Programs for Write Pittsburgh and Disability Justice Advocate for the Abolitionist Law Center. A graduate of the Chatham University MFA Program, Dmitra has taught creative writing at Allegheny County Jail, Pittsburgh CAPA, Westinghouse High School, and other community spaces, and their work has appeared in PANK Magazine, Santa Fe Writers Project Quarterly, and Pink Panther Magazine, among others.
Elina Zhang is a writer and organizer based in Pittsburgh, PA, where she received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. Elina’s writing has appeared in PublicSource and LitHub; she is a 2022 Periplus Fellow. She writes about gendered violence and unruly desires.
