Good Party is looking for an outgoing and charismatic paid outreach canvasser in a temporary position ASAP through November 8, 2022 (Election Day). You’ll work to spread Good Party’s movement across Maine (no fundraising required!). You can be based anywhere in Maine for this position. You'll share Good Party's message, encourage sign ups to receive Good Party's voter guide, and give away fun merch on campuses, at concerts, and local events. What’s Good Party? A majority of Gen Z and Millennials say that Republicans and Democrats don’t represent us. Our democracy has been corrupted by a two-party system that serves moneyed interests, leaving us apathetic or having to choose between the lesser of two evils. No matter what issues you care about, dysfunctional politics stands in the way. We can break free of this dark doom loop by electing representatives from outside this system. Good Party is not a political party. We’re a startup building free social tools to change the rules and make people matter more than money! We’re growing a movement to give truly independent, people-powered candidates from across the political spectrum the platform they need to win elections in Maine and across the country. As Maine goes, so goes the nation! This position does not involve advocating on behalf of specific candidates. You'll be promoting Good Party's overall message, voter guide, and slate of Maine candidates. Good Party is founded by serial entrepreneur, Farhad Mohit, with over $1B in exits — Flipagram (now TikTok), Shopzilla, and BizRate. Who we’re looking for: - You have past experience with canvassing, signature gathering, on street teams, or as a brand ambassador. Additional training will be provided. - You’ve got strong social skills. You're outgoing and enjoy getting to know strangers. - You get excited about your interests (your favorite TV show, a new app you discovered, etc.) and love to spread the word to anyone who will listen - You’ve got at least 14 hours per week to dedicate to this role. We're looking for between 14 to 40 hours per week for this temporary position. - You have a car, a valid driver's license, and insurance coverage. You will receive the IRS mileage reimbursement rate for shifts requiring over 20 miles of travel. - This is a part-time, temporary position paid hourly at $26/hour.
