Hello, I am one of the co founders of a small reptile and amphibian rescue in the DFW area. We have seen a huge uptick in reptiles and amphibians getting released into the wild during the warmer months, and as kids go back to school or off to college. If you are unable to care for your reptile or amphibian pets, please consider contacting me or another local rescue. A lot of times it is free to you to surrender them, no questions asked. Releasing pets into the wild will most times be a terrible death sentence for them, and on the off chance they survive in our local area, it could be devastating for the local ecosystem.
