I spent over $1500 (the truck alone) to move all this stuff out here. My plan was to create a home for a needy (on assistance, DV survivor, no family) single mom and her boy, along with a space for me to land between international teaching contracts (6-12mo.). Never one ounce of gratitude for all the effort. In February, I discovered her alcoholism and chose to sever all ties *she was a very dear friend, but never a best friend (!); we were never very close and have always lived in separate cities and states, so. Yah. I took a chance and came up short. End of story. All summer, I've been riding out my lease in solitude. I've enjoyed Canfield Mt., Green Bluff, the lake cruise and the beach! But now that the COVID restrictions have lifted, it's back to work! I'm due in Bangkok on the 21st.
