Description

Join us for an evening of art and community in a beautiful, natural setting. Not only are we honoring the energy of the Full Moon, but we are also bringing in a sacred plant medicine, cacao. Ecstatic Dance has been a form of creative expression throughout human history. It provides a chance to lose yourself in the rhythmic beat of the music, allowing your body to express itself and move freely in whatever way it desires. Dance is a way to experience life fully and completely in the present moment, and can bring profound meditative and even trance-like states. Dance can bring a greater connection to your mind, body and spirit and deepen your connection with others. It is a way to relieve stress and get in touch with emotions. For the first time, we will be adding a Cacao Ceremony prior to the Ecstatic Dance event. This will be an add-on if you would like to participate in both opportunities. The synergy between dance and cacao is something to be experienced. Let's tap into the heart-opening, mood-boosting, and expansive qualities of cacao as we explore communal connection. As the cacao brings us into a state of deeper connection, we will engage in intention setting and group exercises to shed that which doesn't serve us and find free expression in community. Cacao is a beautiful catalyst for ecstatic dance, encouraging free expression and loving engagement. We are very grateful to have Chris Sakowski facilitating our cacao ceremony for the event! Chris leads wellness workshops and ceremonies internationally. His goal is to empower others to take ownership of their health, understand their bodies and minds, and learn to love themselves more fully. He is currently offering Structural Integration, Chi Nei Tsang, and Thai Yoga Bodywork sessions in Baltimore. For more info please visit www.madwayoga.com And we are always grateful for the musical partnership with James Patrick aka James Nasty. This is our fourth Ecstatic Dance with James and he always delivers a transcendent experience. Baltimore, Maryland resident James Nasty excels at producing and DJing Baltimore club music while maintaining roots in turntablism and open format Djing. He is locally iconic and globally respected. Voted the “Best DJ In a Club” in the Baltimore City Paper twice, he’s favored by Bmore club inventor Scottie B and is in heavy rotation during legends KW Griff and Pork Chop’s club mixes on Baltimore radio station 92Q. Globally, he's spun for Boiler Room and gained support from the likes of Bassnectar, Mace Pled, A-Trak, GTA, Anna Lunoe, Sirius XM Shade 45’s DJ Wonder, L-Vis1990, Dj Uniique, Dave Nada / Nadastrom, Gorgon City and more. Time Out Singapore says "Stop being so serious and get loose to James Nasty. This is the kind of stuff coming out of Baltimore that’s really popular but still manages to break all the rules. CACAO CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 4PM-5PM. ECSTATIC DANCE WILL TAKE PLACE FROM 5PM-7PM. Please try to arrive early. The Zen Garden is a hidden gem, which makes it hard to find! Allow yourself ample time for parking and walking to the event. To find us, please use 3500 Parkdale Ave in your GPS to lead you to the closest street parking. Once parked, continue to walk up the paved road towards the park. You will see a trail on your left just a short distance up the road. You will cross a small stream, then continue up the hill. Once at the top, you will see a beautiful, open green space. That's where we will be! If you need assistance with getting to the location or if you need to be driven up to the park, please reach out to [email protected]. We are happy to help! We have 4 scholarships available for this event. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information.
