Description

Are you wanting to create custom fitting costumes for Halloween? Or you found some fabric that you like and want to make a shirt that fits you perfectly. Join us for our duct tape dummy workshop! We will be creating duct tape doppelgangers of ourselves so that you can make the perfect measurements of yourself without a second pair of hands. What's a duct tape dummy? A duct tape dummy, DTD, duct tape mannequin, or duct tape body form is a cast, or negative impression, of a person's body made of duct tape for use as a mannequin. It is a fast, inexpensive way of getting a template of your body for the purpose of designing costumes and clothes for yourself. What do I need to bring? Attendees should bring or be wearing some snug fitting clothes (think yoga pants/compression shorts). The process of making a dummy of yourself requires a second person to lay strips of tape onto your torso. It is best to bring a friend who you don't mind helping out and touching your person. If they would like their own dummy, be sure to buy two tickets! How do I find the class? We are in the 1st floor of the apartment building. Enter the main double doors and proceed past the elevators. Take the first hallway to the right and enter the first door on the left. Parking is street parking and plentiful in the area. Who is North End Makers? We are a community that runs a makerspace in North Seattle. We are an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit. Learn more on our website at https://www.northendmakers.org/ Anything else? Proof of vaccination required. You may email this ahead of time to [email protected]. Masks and social distancing enforced.
