Most everyone knows of the nation’s great Tempranillo grape but Spain offers many other delicious wines that drink beautifully on their own or pair exquisitely with an array of foods. Garnacha (Grenache) is widely planted and found in many blends and single varietal bottlings. Spain offers one of the best value sparkling wines in Cava, a blend of Xarel-lo, Macabéo, and Parellada. Cava is a super affordable pick for the base of your favorite cocktails and a great, light sipper. Albarino, grown in the Northwest may be the world’s best seafood wine.
