516 ARTS, Albuquerque’s contemporary art museum, is teaming up with Found Sound Nation and the City of Albuquerque Arts & Culture Department to present OneBeat X, a global music event and art happening at the Albuquerque Railyards on Saturday, November 5, 2022. OneBeat returns to Albuquerque for a 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, presenting 25 musical artists from 19 countries for a one- day festival of global music, contemporary art installations, food trucks & more. Featuring Ghanaian spoken word artist Poeta Asantewa; Kenyan DJ, producer, and songwriter, “Blinky” Bill Sellanga; award-winning Colombian percussionist, Jenn del Tambó; Warsaw-based composer and multi-instrumentalist, Piotr Kurek; and improvisational gayageum-player, Kyungso Park. This year, the festival event will feature installations by local and global artists, interactive music- making, and a special lineup of live performances by the OneBeat X cohort and guest artists including performances by the celebrated Pan-Latin American powerhouse group LADAMA, a collaboration between Nigerian guitarist Biodun Kuti and celebrated multi-instrumentalist Mark Stewart, as well as installations by visual and sound artist Chris Williams (USA), and visual artist and filmmaker, Xuan (USA).
