Attend the first-ever community forum on youth mental health - "Let's Start Talking: What Every Parent Needs to Know- A Forum on Youth Mental Health in Downers Grove".
Wednesday, October 12 from 6:30pm-8pm at the Downers Grove Library Conference Room.
The event hopes to educate attendees on local mental wellness resources, share expert "strategies/tips" and hear community concerns, issues and opportunities.
The forum will consist of:

Panel Discussion on the state of our youth's mental health, what parents should know/do, and Q&A. Panelists will include: Sara Courington, DGS Associate Principal; Ryan Lauterwasser, Manager Adolescent Inpatient and Eating Disorder Services, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health; Dr. Erin Ludwick, DGN Associate Principal; Julie Quinlan, Herrick Middle School Counselor; Peggy Tomchek, Counseling Coordinator, Benedictine University; Betsy Boesch, DuPage County Health Department, Assistant Director of Youth & Family Services; Local student representatives

Resource Fair featuring information tables of local organizations including NAMI DuPage, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, Indian Boundary YMCA, Youth Outlook, PAWSitive Therapy Troupe and more !
We think this will be an exciting and powerful opportunity to come together as a community around our youth's mental health and invite ALL community members to attend. Together we can help support and educate each other and end the stigma around mental health.
