Our mission is to unite, uplift and amplify our voices on this important day. We have specifically designated Whittier Blvd parking lot as our event location. As a cultural landmark, the Boulevard is the epicentre for our diverse Indigenous communities. The neighbourhood is well known for its significant historic role of Indigenous Peoples that have and are shaping the city's culture. The Eagle and the Condor is an ancient Indigenous prophecy from the people of the “Americas,” that spoke of a time when the Eagle and the Condor representing the indigenous peoples of the North and the South would reunite once again with their original knowledge, strength, diversity and connection to the Earth. This would signal a new “Pachakuti,” a time of reconciliation, reunification, and healing of the land and its people. “Often, Indigenous People don't have safe spaces for our creative expression. We are building those safe spaces, we are grassroots, and doing the groundwork needed to bring healing to our community,” says award-winning hip-hop artist, activist, and entrepreneur, Dakota Bear.
