On Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, at Shreveport Downton Airport (KDTN), Shreveport, LA 71107, Legacy Flight Academy™ (LFA) will partner with Project Tuskegee to host Eyes Above the Horizon™, LFA's unique 1-day outreach, flight introduction program, for 100 students ages 10-19. Eyes Above the Horizon™ is an outreach and flight orientation program designed to inspire youth to reach beyond their familiar circumstances and to consider pursuing careers in Aviation and STEM. In furtherance of this objective--and to remove financial barriers--LFA and its partners cover the cost for individual student participation. Registration on Eventbrite and parental permission is all that is required in order to participate in Eyes Above the Horizon™! Pilot Check-in is 7:15AM . Pilots MUST be pre-registered. Formal student program activities will occur from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Pilots will recieve a morning snack and lunch Volunteer Pilot requirements Possess a current medical certificate (if applicable).Be current to carry passengers in the aircraft you plan to use.Have a current flight review.Conduct flights in an aircraft that is in airworthy condition.Have aircraft passenger liability insurance for the aircraft used (owned, rented, or borrowed) Adhere to all applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs). applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs).*All volunteers are invited to attend the Friday night reception the day prior.
