In-home, nature-based Childcare in Boone County
Kids
Lawrenceburg ferry Rd., Petersburg KY
Description
I am opening up my home to provide child-care for 1-2 children. I have 9+ years of childcare experience, including working as a full-time nanny from 2017-2021. I took a brief hiatus due to changes with the pandemic and relocated to our current space. I am transitioning my services to in-home/drop-off care. About my services: I offer something unique to the area. We are nestled into the woods on a 67 acre property. This includes hiking trails and a yard attached to our cabin that will be fenced in for the kiddos. I earned my Master's Degree in 2012, focusing on Fine Art & education. I have worked as a full-time nanny, as-needed sitter, homework helper, I taught children's art classes and am experienced in developing curriculum. I have worked as a Tinkergarten leader and organized a nature-based homeschooling group during the pandemic. My methods are infused with: - RIE Parenting methods - Gentle parenting methods - Nature-based education and exploration - Montessori Methods - Waldorf (Rudolph Steiner) principles - Unschooling principles - Learning through play - Child-lead learning Depending on the day(s) of care needed, we will have regular, educational outings. Mondays, we often join an outdoor exploration group in Boone County. Thursdays, children (3-5) have the option to participate in Woodland Schoolhouse if parents are interested. Wednesdays, we join an outdoor exploration & nature education group in Ft. Thomas, KY. Thursdays, children (5-8) have the option to participate in Woodland Schoolhouse if parents are interested. We host a monthly music class on the property Depending on what offerings are scheduled, we frequent: The Cincinnati Nature Center, The Zoo, The aquarium, Children's Museum and other local homeschool group events. Our household is chemical-free. We do not use any artificial fragrances, perfumes or chemical cleaners. Any food provided for children will be gluten-free, non-GMO & organic whenever possible. If children have specific needs for their diets, I am familiar with a range of dietary allergens, special diets & can support families with this. Food can be provided for children, with a daily fee for each meal provided. Drop-off or Pick-up options may be available, depending on the number of children currently in my care. We are located on an operating farm and children will have the opportunity to work with the animals, if their parents permit them to do so. This could include: Egg collecting, gardening, harvesting flowers/veggies/fruits planted by the children, working with animals that are child-friendly. (this could include Dwarf goats, baby ducks/chicks & egg incubation projects) I am looking for families that desire something that is difficult to find locally. A holistic, learning environment where children will be free to explore their own interests and see where it leads them. They will be immersed in nature and nurtured.
