Jen is a teacher and poet who works one on one with students of all ages to help them remove writing blocks through creative, rule-free expression. Through unique prompts and engaging poems, students will explore their voice, their story, and their identity. Poetry is about so much more than writing. It is about paying close attention to the world around you. It is about embracing your unique way of experiencing the world. If you think your student would benefit from a renowned appreciation for language, the world, and themselves, this is the program for them!
Meet your teacher: Jen is a poet, teacher, and freedom seeker. She left her job as a middle school English teacher to live, write, and travel in a tiny camper with her husband and their dog. Her poetry has been published in various literary journals such as One Art, Rattle, Sky Island Journal, The Shore, and Jellyfish Review. Poetry has changed her life and she wants it to change yours too!
