The Finnish American Brass Band AMERIIKAN POIJAT (Boys of America) has received an invitation to perform a benefit fundraiser concert for the Finlandia Foundation Northland. Ameriikan Poijat, with players based in Minnesota, has traveled widely, with performances in most Midwestern states, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Canada, and Finland. “Poijat” has released six CD recordings and publishes some of its performance sheet music. The event will take place on Friday, October 14, 7:00 PM at the “World of Accordions Museum” 1401 Belknap, Superior, Wisconsin. Poijat’s program will consist of a mixture of concert and dance music. There is no admission fee, but donations will be received.
