This workshop will introduce the Medicine Buddha Practice as it’s recited at Columbus KTC on Sunday mornings.Medicine Buddha is the awakened buddha of healing, and is associated with the development of inner stability which transform suffering. We are excited to offer this class as a follow-up to the Medicine Buddha Empowerment given by Lama Karma Drodhul in August. Instructor Cathy Lhamo Jackson, a longtime Medicine Buddha practitioner who has taught the practice for years at Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche's urging, will explain the history and background of the prayer text, show us how to read Tibetan transliteration, and teach us elementary visualization techniques. The class will cover the main part of the Medicine Buddha text and the Medicine Buddha mantra, which are said to be powerful purification for negative karma and obscurations. Participants will finish the workshop knowing how to read a Tibetan prayer text, and be prepared to participate in the Chenrezig practice at KTC. There are no prerequisites for this workshop; anyone may attend. NEW!!
