Description

Story Please join us for a FREE special community education event! The United Nations Association of Boulder County will be celebrating UN Day by sharing an evening of reflection about our community and education on how we as a community can work together to make Boulder a more welcoming and inclusive place. This event will feature the documentary, This is [Not] Who We Are by Beret Strong, about racism in Boulder. After the documentary we will have a Q & A with one of the film's Director's Katrina Miller and the film's subject Zayd Atkinson. This family friendly educational event will include community resource organizations, food, drinks, connection, cake, and music. The event is free but we will be accepting donations to benefit the University of Colorado's Center for African and African American Studies Student Emergency Fund. CU's Center for African and African American Studies Student Emergency Fund provides emergency assistance to students involved in the CAAAS programs at CU Boulder who find themselves in a difficult situation due to a temporary or unexpected financial hardship. Recipients of the award may be, but are not limited to, students taking a class rostered under the center, students involved in the CAAAS programs and engagement opportunities, and allies of the center. Payments will be made on a case-by-case basis as determined by the director of the center.
