Meet at the corner of Payson Ave. and Dyckman St. (Payson Playground),New York NY 10034
08 October, 2022
Description
New York City is home to more than 300 miles of nature trails — and these trails provide New Yorkers with countless opportunities to get out and explore nature. They give us space to engage in different types of recreational activities, and they help keep our forests healthy by lessening fragmentation and encouraging local stewardship.
Join us on Saturday, October 8 at 8:30 A.M. as we celebrate our city's nature trails in Manhattan's Inwood Hill Park. Birding expert Rachael Joakim will join the NAC's Trails Community Engagement Manager Josh Otero to lead a birding hike along the park's Orange Trail. During the event, Rachael will help guests spot different birds and other wildlife along the way as Josh highlights the various trail initiatives and improvements happening in the park. It's a great opportunity to expand your birding skills and learn more about how nature trails increase our access to nature.
Registration is required to attend. Participants should arrive at the corner of Dyckman St. and Payson Ave. (Payson Playground) as the event meeting location. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for a walking tour. Attendees are also encouraged to bring binoculars.
This event is made possible thanks to generous funding from Con Edison.
