After a two year hiatus, the Vermont Alliance for the Social Studies is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an in-person conference in Montpelier, VT on December 7th. The Keynote Speaker will be Ted Johnson, Senior Director of the Fellows Program at the Brennan Center for Justice and author of “When the Stars Begin to Fall: Overcoming Racism and Renewing the Promise of America.” There will be a wealth of dynamic breakout sessions which will be of interest to K-16 Social Studies educators and local historians. Complimentary walking tours of the Vermont State House led by professional historians will be available throughout the day. Taking place in Vermont’s fascinating capital city Montpelier, the conference will host vendors, provide freebies, and offer networking opportunities. Continental breakfast and lunch is included. Registration begins at 7:45 and sessions start at 8:30.
