NVUSD’s all staff Professional Learning Day, scheduled for Friday, October 14 at American Canyon High School. Due to limited sub availability for PF during the school day and in response to feedback from previous PD Days, this fall offering and support will be much more concentrated, with certificated staff working in grade/content teams honing strategies they can implement immediately and refining their regular PLC work. At this in-person event hosted by American Canyon High School, staff will engage in the continued work of creating ecosystems of cariño as well as receive focused support with board annual priority 2: high-quality Tier 1 instruction. Staff will experience highly focused and interactive sessions on PLC learning sprints, high quality student interactions, and supporting multilingual learners. Classified staff will spend the morning working with Dr. Victor Rios on the importance of classified staff in building ecosystems of cariño. After lunch, new classified employees will participate in an orientation with HR, with all other classified attendees being able to select from a menu of training options for two sessions.
