This is for Scouts in Troop 766 only! I will be offering the 1st Class Orienteering Course at my house (345 N 18th Ave, Hiawatha) on 3 different dates (see details below).  This is typically a tough requirement to get done outside of this class.  I need parents to stay and help! The class takes 60-75 minutes to complete. Details: 1) Dates: October 4th from 5:00-6:00 pm, October 9th from 3:00-4:00 pm, or October 12th from 5:00-6:00 pm. You only need to attend 1 date. 2)  Bring a compass (like the one pictured below) - if you have one.  I do have extras, so no need to buy a compass. 3) Your Scout Book so I can sign off the requirement when complete. 4) Please wear a Class B t-shirt/sweatshirt (if you have one). 5) Max class size is 7. Requirement #4a: Using a map and compass, complete an orienteering course that covers at least one mile and requires measuring the height and/ or width of designated items (tree, tower, canyon, ditch, etc.).
