Description
Emma, a lovely 13-year-old shih tzu (female). We are second owners with no fault to her own (first owner got a new dog and Emma did not like new dog. Emma chose me to be her companion, first owner saw it was best for Emma to go where she would be happiest). WILL BE PICKY WHERE SHE GOES. Will need references and will do a trial run. 5 years ago, Emma chose us to be her companion, I will give her the same choice as she had 5 years ago. Emma was an apartment dog for 9 years. The past 5 years she has been a house/ farm dog. fell in love with the outdoors. Can hold her bladder like a camel holds water. She is low key, certainly has the shih tzu characteristics. Gets along with cats and dogs, but does not interact much with them. Does NOT like fireworks or loud noise, seems to get worse as she gets older. Also will need a thunder buddy. Is the best weather dog out there! She will let you know if it is going to rain. She loves fetch, car rides, light walks, camping, sleeping with you, snuggles, scratches, and people food (although she needs to be limited on people food for she will get obese). She might be old but is considerably healthy. Does have cataracts, has hard time seeing in the dark. Some missing teeth but still can eat hard small dog food Has cysts that our Vet has said to leave alone. Once they pop on their own, we gently lance the open sore more to get puss out as comfortably we can for Emma, put alcohol pad on for a day or so. Emma trusts us so she lets us do it with ease. Generally in a few months the cysts will come back. We have livestock so doing out own vetting is no big deal. if she could go to a home where she will be loved, allowed to sleep on the bed, and played fetch every day. We see is rude for to be selfish. We are too busy with our child (hope to have more soon), full time job, farm/ranch work after full time job (and yes, we generally bring our dogs everywhere with us) Our child came into our life in 2021, a lot has changed. (no dogs allowed in bed, any tired mom would agree sleep is worth gold with babies/kids) It is not fair for Emma to not get the full love and attention she deserves. She has been extremely patience but we can see now she is suffering from not getting enough of our time. (Yes, we have made extra time for her but with health issues arose, harvest, etc. coming up it is difficult to do everything.)
