Description

The Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace will host Scythian and Tuatha on Friday, October 21. Rousing and raucous, Scythian plays roots music from Celtic, Eastern European and Appalachian traditions with thunderous energy, technical prowess, and storytelling songwriting, beckoning crowds into a barn-dance, rock concert experience. Tuatha Dea is a progressive Americana band with a Rock edge, a Celtic-Appalachian influence and a fearless attitude for pushing the boundaries of modern roots music. The shows continue the LOVE SWVA Concert Series, presented by Tri-Cities Airport. A special thank you to additional sponsors: Food City, Virginia Highlands Community College, Alpha Natural Resources, and Virginia is for Lovers. Tuatha Dea is scheduled to open at 7 p.m. with Scythian to headline the night beginning at 8 p.m. The show is scheduled to take place outside. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to set up next to the bonfire. You may want to bring a blanket to stay cozy in the cool, autumn air. Food and drinks will be served. Plan to have dinner with us. Brats/side: $8, Hot dog/side: $6 Desserts and beer will also be available for purchase.
