About Food Justice: Growing a Healthy Community Through ArtCelebrate the opening of Food Justice: Growing a Healthier Community Through Art at our Opening Reception. Food Justice brings awareness to food insecurity through art and explores how we can shape positive change in ending hunger. Join us for an expert panel discussion, family activities hosted by Wee the People, an artist talk, or simply stop by for lunch.11:00AM - 11:15AM | Opening Remarks 11:15AM - 12:30PM | Justice for All: The Fight to End Food Insecurity Fuller Craft Museum's Diversity & Racial Equity Council (DARE) is proud to present this expert panel discussion that sheds light on food insecurity. This panel simultaneously supports our communities in finding resources that combat hunger and encourages them to eat healthier without sacrificing their cultural heritage. Panelists will discuss how they are doing their part in influencing positive change in food insecurity. Panelists to be announced. Level: Recommended for ages 12+Location: Great Room11:15AM - 12:30PM | Wee the People: Food Justice Workshop This family friendly workshop, hosted by Wee the People, teaches participants about food insecurity and asks what it means to stand in solidarity with others as part of social justice movements. Child care to be provided by the YMCA. Level: Recommended for all agesLocation: Studio A12:30PM - 1:00PM | Gallery Discussion & Exploration Visit our Stone and Barstow galleries to view and learn about the Food Justice exhibition. Emily Bhargarva, the maker of the 1659 Table, will be giving a talk and answering questions about her work. 1:00PM - 2:00 PM | Lunch Break & Giveaway After a long and informative day, stop by our Art Lounge for a free boxed lunch provided by East Side Market and participate in fun giveaways. Lunches are on a first come, first served basis. Prizes to be announced. Free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required. Questions?
