The past year has been extremely tough for the LGBTQ+ community from a legislative perspective, especially for those of us here in South Carolina. Anti-trans legislation was proposed over six times and eventually passed into law. Censorship in education and banning books are at the forefront of the legislative debate for the next cycle, as well as medical autonomy and refusal of service. South Carolina could be the next state to adopt "Don't Say Gay" legislation and lawmakers have been vocal about their opposition to trans-affirming care.
