DEARBORN, MI — Three men were arrested Wednesday after they robbed a Dearborn pharmacy and crashed their getaway car into a police car, Dearborn Police said. Tarik Rasheed Amerson, Jalen Amari Amerson and Charles Jaylin Simmons were each charged with one count of Armed Robbery by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, police said. They were placed in the county jail on $250,000 bond each. If they are released, they must wear GPS tethers. Their next scheduled court appearance is Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. Police said the men entered the pharmacy on the 5200 block of Oakman Blvd. wearing masks and demanded narcotics. The men jumped over the counter and ordered the employees to lay on the ground while they loaded numerous bottles of narcotics into backpacks, police said. The robbers then got into a white Dodge Charger and sped away from the pharmacy on northbound Oakman Boulevard, where they eventually crashed into the back of a police car, seriously injuring an officer, who was taken to a nearby hospital, police said. The robbers then got out of the Charger and ran through a neighborhood just off Oakman Boulevard, where officers arrested all three robbers, police said. One of the robbers suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said. "The violent acts by these individuals put our community members at risk and resulted in a police officer being hospitalized," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said. "I commend our officers for the courage and determination they exhibited, putting themselves in harm's way to protect our community from imminent danger while quickly apprehending those responsible." Dearborn Police are still investigating the robbery and crash.
