The Serrada System of Escrima, as taught in the Underground Escrima Club, is the original system taught by Grandmaster Angel Cabales. It is a close quarter style of fighting with emphasis on Weapons Combat. It teaches students how to achieve better mind/body coordination while also learning how to defend oneself against a would-be assailant, regardless of the type of attack initiated, weapon or empty-hand. It is a very fluid form of self-defense with emphasis on speed and reflexes, rather than strength and rigidity and is therefore easily taught to women and children alike. It is an excellent method of exercise, which teaches self-confidence and when used in self-defense is particularly devastating to any would be attacker.
