Thomas Custom Builders, a family-owned design build firm specializing in custom residential construction in the Northern Virginia area, seeks a well-qualified working Foreman/Lead Carpenter for ongoing remodeling projects to include bathrooms, kitchens, additions and new construction. The right candidate should be an ambitious, motivated, dependable and hardworking individual who is looking to grow with the company. Duties & Responsibilities: • Follow and keep job schedule on track • Work directly with homeowners and subcontractors • Complete all work according to plans and scope of work • Ability to work with construction materials and tools and all work included • Delegate responsibilities to workers on site • Perform a variety of routine, non-machine tasks such as: preparing job sites, jobsite organization and cleanup • Ensures job stays on schedule and has proper material on site Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in remodeling and/or construction • Ability to gather and manage crews of 2-5 workers • Knowledge of all trades and ability to train people when necessary • Great supervisory skills to keep the right people • Proven ability to manage project operations, timeframes and profitability • Ability to lift and move 75 pounds and meet the physical requirements of a remodeling project • Oral and written communication skills • Good mathematical skill and reasoning abilities • Ability to follow instructions and company policies and procedures • Valid driver’s license, personal transportation and tools • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening • Perform some labor and demo • Ability to install and finish trims, such as base, casings and crown molding • Can read and execute job plans • Ability to install cabinets according to cabinet layouts • Can install interior and exterior doors Compensation commensurate with experience.
