We are a fast growing small business that is looking to expand our team by one person. We are an online retailer that specializes in building custom furniture from reclaimed wood and steel. We have fun creating unique products and shipping them all over the world. At this job you will get the opportunity to work side by side with the owners who are passionate about producing environmentally friendly, quality designs and a happy work environment. You will learn the basics of metal working, from using 50 ton machines and prepping steel, to the basics of wood-working, such as sanding, cutting and finishing. Along with packaging and shipping online orders. Overall this job provides a great opportunity to expand your skill sets while avoiding the monotony of the same tasks day in and day out. Currently we have a small, 3 person team, so hiring someone with a good attitude who is ready to learn is very important to us. Job Description: The Shop Hand will assist the manager on a variety of workshop tasks including metal work, woodwork, cleaning and packaging online orders. Is responsible for working in a safe and effective manner to perform tasks involving physical labor. May operate hand and power tools of all types: Impact Drill, Circular Saw, sander, iron worker and a variety of other equipment. Responsibilities Include: • Assist in all aspects around the shop: metal-work, wood-work, cleaning, packaging • Follow direction as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project • Assure proper use and care of company tools and equipment • Help maintain clean work area • Follow all company safety rules & regulations • Work well in team environment • Be honest and trustworthy Looking for full time but willing to work with part time Starting Pay $16-$18 per hour. Pay is determined based upon experience and ability.
