Join the Wolfsonian Public Humanities Lab on Saturday October 15th, from 5:00PM -8:00PM to celebrate and elevate the history of Bahamians in Coconut Grove and in Miami more broadly. We will be showcasing Jeffrey Poitier’s "Voices" a series of interviews and oral histories from the people who live, work, and LOVE Coconut Grove. "Voices" takes us through the building of a strong, self-sustaining Bahamian community followed by the systemic disenfranchisement and violent displacement of many of those who built not only Coconut Grove, but the whole of Miami.
