When I think of home, I think of a safe and secure place that I have unlimited key access to. A place that i find safety, food, a warm queen size bed, stocked refrigerator, closet with various styles of clothes, bathroom that I can shower or take a long soothing bath. I can choose to use bath gel or bar of soap. When I think of home, I can turn on my central air to cool me off or turn on my heat to warm me up. This is a safe place that I can invite family and friends over for movie night or Sunday dinner. When I think of home, I think of a place that I can start a family tradition with my grandchildren. When I think of home, I believe everyone should be afforded the same opportunity to have a place of their own to call home. Delaware 2020 statistics reflect approximately 1,200 homeless on any given night; 3500 homeless students; 136 homeless households; 267 chronic homeless; and 80 homeless Veterans. Fortunately, compassionate and informed citizens, such as yourselves understand the reality of these problems and feel compelled to contribute to the solution. Our future goal is to acquire homes to be renovated for our underserved and vulnerable population. We are seeking to purchase a motel/hotel; multi and single-family homes; along with land to develop single homes. Our long-term goal is to raise 2.5 million dollars. Our immediate goal is $175,000 of which $100,000 would be applied towards a 10% down payment on a $1 million building.
