WORK! What’s It Good for? A fun writing workshop exploring our jobs and work. To honor the working women of Corbin LTD., and hard workers everywhere, in this workshop we’ll write about our jobs, from the first ones to the current ones. The workshop leaders will bring you stories and poems about work and working lives. We’ll provide prompts so attendees can write about their own or relative’s work experiences through nonfiction and poetry. This is the first of two workshops offered this fall at WestEdge. The second one will be Nov. 17. Stay tuned for more details. Bring pen/paper or laptop/I-pad What work taught us that brought forward in our lives Those “bosses” that we’ll never forget! Colleagues that were like family—or not! Skills we value Those “interesting” customers! Who inspired us? People in our lives who worked so hard just to survive then thrive! We all have good stories about our work lives—let’s explore! Workshop leaders: essayist and memoirist, and Coalfield Artist in Residence, Cat Pleska and poet, novelist, and former Writer in Residence for the Marshall University Writing Project.
